“The CrossFit Total is the sum of the best of three attempts at the squat, the press, and the deadlift, the three most effective lifts in existence for developing and testing functional strength.”

In the interest of time:

You will have 20:00 to find a 1RM Back Squat.
You will have 12:00 to find a 1RM Strict Overhead Press.
You will have 15:00 to find a 1RM Deadlift

After your warmup sets, you will get 3 attempts at a 1RM. You will have the time domain listed above to complete your warmup sets and make your max attempts for each of the three movements. (If this is unclear, please read the article.)

Record your best completed lift as your score.
You should have 3 scores at the end of the day that equal a total.
For example: 315 (back squat) + 165 (strict overhead press) + 405 (deadlift) = 885 (Total)
