There’s this psychological game you play in your head when your times get slower or when your strength numbers go down. I know because I’ve been there. I have had the same thoughts as you. If you’re an athlete, you know exactly what I’m talking about. The voice that takes over. I’m not doing enough. I need more since my times are getting slower. I need to put the time in. Does that ring a bell?

You’ve been there. Maybe you’re there right now.

Get away from asking what more can you do and think about what you can do better. Where are you missing the quality? Are you recovering?

This is a war you’ll play in your head. A war with many battles. Win the critical battles and your times will drop. Go back to our performance pyramid. What in your pyramid needs attention? Be honest.
